Mahmud is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He holds, LL. B Honours, Master of Laws, LLM Degrees and Masters in Business Administration, MBA. He is the 1998 recipient of the Netherlands Cooperation and Development Fellowship, Associate member of Federation of International Association of Coaches and member of the International Bar Association. He is an expert in International Trade Law, including Import and Export Controls, Regulatory Mechanisms under the World Trade Organization and ECOWAS, Bilateral and Multilateral Trade Agreements, Commercial Law, Human Rights and Constitutional Laws, Environmental Law, Education Law, Public Law, Sports Law, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property Rights. He has resourced conferences, workshops and trainings on legal issues in Economic Development, Governance Reforms, Public Enterprise Governance, Strategies, Growth and Performance Management within the Legal Profession.
